Delegate Hala Ayala Celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Today, Delegate Hala Ayala, Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor, released the following statement in celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

“Today, I’m proud to honor Native American and Indigenous Virginians and their immeasurable contributions to our Commonwealth. As we celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we must also recognize the losses and persecution Indigenous people and Native Americans have suffered, and commit to working in partnership with Virginia’s federal and state-recognized tribes, who were the first inhabitants of our land. As Lieutenant Governor, I’ll ensure that Native American and Indigenous Virginians always have a seat at the table.”
