Anyone who has worked with Hala knows that she is a real force for good. I understand this first-hand, as someone who has collaborated with her in the Prince William National Organization of Women and in the Virginia General Assembly. Hala has taken her adversities and turned them into a catalyst for change, bringing much-needed compassion to legislation on behalf of working families. I stand proudly with Hala and endorse her re-election campaign for State Delegate,” said Representative Wexton

In the first campaign finance deadline of the year, Delegate Hala Ayala kicked off her re-election campaign with some of the strongest fundraising numbers in the VA House of Delegates, raising in the top 10th percentile of delegates running for re-election to the House. Reporting $61,590, Delegate Ayala also set the record for most money raised by an incumbent in the first quarter in HD-51 in the past decade.

“There is no question Hala has taken her tenacity and tough work ethic to Richmond. She has consistently delivered on the promises she made to the people of the Commonwealth. From expanding Medicaid to raising teacher pay, Hala has never been one to back down from a challenge. This is why I was proud to endorse her in 2017 and I am proud to stand with her today. It is imperative that we continue to build on the progress she has made in the legislature, and I look forward to her re-election in November”

The Virginia Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education (VEA) rolled out the first in a series of recommendations supporting incumbent legislators during the union’s annual Delegate Assembly in Richmond. Del. Haya Ayala of the 51st House District was recommended by the VEA Fund on Friday, March 29, because they have consistently voted for legislation considered vital and important by the members of the VEA over the past two General Assembly sessions.

Hassan Ahmad endorsement

"We need more advocates in Richmond who care about their communities, and have deep ties to the district they seek to represent. Hassan’s wife and three children have lived in Sterling for over a decade. He was a steadfast ally during our push for the ERA this legislative session and has been a tireless advocate for those who have been left on the margins. This is why I am proud to endorse Hassan Ahmad in his bid for the Democratic nomination for the Virginia House of Delegates in District 87."

Following the blockage of the rules change, Del. Ayala stated, “The rules of the Legislature exist for moments exactly like this one, and I am horrified that a bill that has the support of eighty-one percent of Virginians and passed out of the Republican-controlled Senate will not even be considered in the House. How long must we wait for women and girls to be included in the Constitution?
